Companies profit

http://www.thestreet.com/story/11718458/1/heres-how-much-apple-makes-per-iphone-5.html

Here's How Much Apple Makes Per iPhone 5

Chris Ciaccia

Have you ever wondered how much your iPhone is worth? well if you are an owner of a new Apple iPhone guess how much profit apple made of your phone?

these are the questions were answered in the article "Here's How Much Apple Makes Per iPhone 5"  in the short time apple released their new version of the iphone 5 they have sold over 26 million copies, overall the profitable line was at 442 dollars per device. this is why apple is one of the most profitable and successful companies in the world because they have such a high rate of 68% of profits in their products. and that's only one product. Imagine how much they could be making out of all of their products.
one of my questions is how do you create such a device or product that can give you so much profit and people keep buying them. how can you get people to fall for your products. and i think this is one of the key parts on what separates the best companies from the others. the amount of profit is quite high for the apple company.

Redoing products

 Here's Apple's Next Hit Product
by : Chris Ciaccia
http://www.thestreet.com/story/11730193/1/heres-apples-next-hit-product.html

this are the questions one ask about a company that is successful, and one way of becoming successful is by choosing to sell or make a product that can be better every year.

One thing that companies do to bring the customers back to buy their products is by redoing by making their products smaller, lighter, and faster. for example we have Apple's new release and biggest hit in the moment : the Ipad Mini.

The iPad mini is a new version of Apple's Product the iPad that was released  April 3, 2010. within 3 years Apple has come out with a version every year saying that graphics are better, faster, and easier to use. and people believe this a go buy the up to date version. this is a great way of bringing back customers by just changing minor things to the products. in the article it talks about the product and it talks about how apple will control most of the tablet market the release of the iPad mini. right now they have 68% of the shares and people believe that it will go up. One of my questions is how people go every year to get the latest product if they got the previous one that came out not even a year ago?

what drives people to the store? what makes people wait in line for days during a product release?

Synthesis & Plan

1. I've found that most companies that are successful spend a lot of money on advertising their products for example Nike uses professional athletes to wear their products so people who look up to them buy them. another thing I've learn is that companies like apple only makes products that they can improve upon and make them better every year leaving the customers to keep coming back.

2.  how to find or create a product that keeps people coming back every year?
how do you choose the right  kind of advertising?

words // Brandon Richard

How to get create a successful company, best way of doing that would be to get famous actors, singers and in Nike's case athletes to advertise your products so people can buy them.

One way Nike has recently made the gap between other competitors harder to fill is with the release of the new signature shoe from Kobe Bryant. calling this phenomenon  "The Kobe System: Success for the Successful,". Nike becomes a bigger company every time they take in  the so called "top dogs "  by doing this they get those famous athletes that many people look up to. and if they wear the shoe then all the people who look up to them would want to buy it. this is why advertising is such a key part in creating such a great company like Nike today. which leads me to believe that if you want to create a company you need your adverting to be spectacular.

one thing companies go big is on advertising. So how do you get the right person to wear/ use your product?

how apple has impacted technology.

One thing we owe to Steve Jobs

By Simon Garfield
CNN.com

Jobs success to bring apple to the top began back in the 80s after he dropped out of college. after he dropped out he took classes on typography to learn how a font says something different. a typeface says a lot when it is on bold, italicized or underline , from black letter to helvetica. it changes the whole look and feel.
Apple took this advantage and gave its users more then one boring typeface. It allowed consumers to connect with the product and create something  they could all relate to.  This is one of the reasons how apple can connect to everyone in a universal way.

this is such an important aspect that allows apple to create and gives people options. giving options to the consumers allows people to create a better interaction between the product and the consumer.
apple has impacted technology not just from apple but to other competitors. to change and give options to the people so they create a deeper connections between the products. leading people to come back and keep buying them.  as a company you want to keep bringing your customers back, how can you do that if you only a certain amount of products? how do you keep them coming back?

two guys one garage one multbillioner company

"Apple Inc.." Compton's by Britannica. Encyclopædia Britannica Online School Edition.
Encyclopædia Britannica, Inc., 2012. Web. 26 Oct. 2012.

apple was founded in by two guys in their 20's, Stephen G. Wozniak and Steven P. Jobs.
they started to build computers for in the garage of job's parents.

one of the reasons how they became so successful was to offer a product that made it easier for the consumer to use and to use on an everyday basis. for example apple success really took off when they brought the iPod to the market, it allowed consumers to have more music on the go without having to change disks. it made everything simpler. Photograph:Apple introduced the iPod Nano digital music player, one fifth the size of the original iPod, in 2005.

another way how they brought success was when they introduced the iPhone which allowed people to use the internet in an easier way.  so how does a company create a product  that allows users to keep coming back?

From a Van to a World Wide Brand

http://xroads.virginia.edu/~class/am483_97/projects/hincker/nikhist.html

Preliminary Information: Iconography ExplainedNike's Heritage

fifty years ago, Nike the worldwide company we know today was making shoe sales out of the back of a truck. how did they become such a successful company?

one way to their success was they where the first brand that went overseas to manufacturer their products. they would create the shoes for less creating a bigger profit due to cheap labor. in the 60's the market for athletic shoes market was not looked at the moment their only rivals was German shoes that sold for an overpriced amount. once Nike was in full swing they completely took over the market and everyone could not keep up. another way they got huge success was the way their  top-level athletes promoted their products, which led Americans to get more shoes and creating one of the biggest shoe companies to this day.

how does marketing help make a company's success?

Apple's Success

http://techland.time.com/2012/05/07/six-reasons-why-apple-is-successful/
6 Reasons Apple Is So Successful
By TIM BAJARIN

Apple is one of the most successful companies to this date,  in this article they say that apple's success is narrowed down to six factors.
first, start with customer service and in-store experiences, they chose a simple way to display all of the products while changing how you interact with the product. always greeted by a sales person and they ask how they can make your experience better. 2 & 3 factors go hand in hand. in the article it talks about how they didn't invent anything new. they took products and gave them a whole new look, made the interface very simple for the customers to be able to use it on an everyday basis.another thing they do at apple is they make a product if they can only make it better and keep the customers coming back.
As Apple designer Jonathan Ive said recently, “Our goals are very simple — to design and make better products. If we can’t make something that is better, we won’t do it.”one of the last factors that has made apple who it is today, is that they stay two years ahead of the competition.  for example the iPhone was signed off two years ago and it was just released last month. as competition is barely catching up to them and they have product that will be ready to be leased in three years in advanced.  these factors are why apple is one of the prosperous companies today.
