Preliminary Information: Iconography ExplainedNike's Heritage

fifty years ago, Nike the worldwide company we know today was making shoe sales out of the back of a truck. how did they become such a successful company?

one way to their success was they where the first brand that went overseas to manufacturer their products. they would create the shoes for less creating a bigger profit due to cheap labor. in the 60's the market for athletic shoes market was not looked at the moment their only rivals was German shoes that sold for an overpriced amount. once Nike was in full swing they completely took over the market and everyone could not keep up. another way they got huge success was the way their  top-level athletes promoted their products, which led Americans to get more shoes and creating one of the biggest shoe companies to this day.

how does marketing help make a company's success?

  1. You should also look at how Steve Jobs studied iconography and stenography (?)...he studied fonts which taught him the importance of aesthetics.
