Athletes Aren't paid too much.

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/55644-why-pro-athletes-arent-paid-too-much

According to this article, athlete's have a reasonable salary because the sports industry in the United States makes so much money, so why shouldn't these athletes get paid the money they made by bringing in people to watch them play? I partially agree with this. The sports industry brings in much money from ticket sales, advertising, merchandise, etc., that the athletes that are bringing in the money should get a good amount of it. I  also disagree with the article with the fact that the says that not many other people can say that they go to work everyday taking the risk that they might get injured. This, however is false. Firefighters, police officers, and soldiers in the military go to work risking their lives everyday, but why aren't they paid as much as professional athletes?

  1. This is a very interesting article. People tend to only think of the big contracts in sports when realistically the salary is a lot less for athletes but the average is high because of the gigantic salaries. I think it would also benefit you to look up the average career of a professional athlete by sport. Most athletes do not stay in professional sports too long.

  2. I've never really thought about how large the industry is behind the large salaries of athletes. Their salaries are not that huge compared to CEO's of large businesses. I would suggest putting some numbers on your post though, so that not every reader has to go on to read the original article, but your writing was interesting enough to make me read the full article, which is good.
