Why are some artists more widely recognized and paid more than others who are equally/more talented?
Although I think saying that I'm passionate about celebrities and celebrity gossip is a little much, I think this topic is actually really interesting. A few weeks ago, I saw a clip online of Megan Fox a few years ago, in a Mary-Kate and Ashley movie, with terrible acting. I think it’s so funny and strange that Megan Fox, who was literally so unconvincing and embarrassing, is such a big, known star, while someone like Heath Ledger wasn’t as known until after his death and the release of The Dark Knight. On the other hand, certain books and authors are also more known than others, despite having flaws. For example, books like Twilight and the Hunger Games are extremely popular, although they don’t have nice prose or writing. Sure, the ideas and creativity put into the books are what makes them so successful, but there are plenty of other books with original ideas and better writing that aren’t nearly as recognizable, which is an interesting concept to consider. This is why I want to research the topic- because it’s something everyone thinks about at some point, but never bother to understand.
